Someday I suppose I'll do a real web-page for Turtle Signs. For now, I'll
just say that the whole reason I got into computers was to upgrade my sign
business. At this point I hardly hand letter anything, but design on my
PowerMac, and cut vinyl with my computer-run cutter / plotter. Its not quite
as easy as that might sound, tho. Before applying, I have to "weed"
away all the vinyl parts that I don't want applied, roll on carrier tape
to the top of the weeded vinyl, then carefully squeegee on the finished
letters or graphics. Each color of the sign is done seperately.
Several years ago I tried having a small sign shop in Joshua Tree, and
made this sign for myself.

Storefront signs are the most fun to do. I also do real estate signs, trucks
and other vehicles, windows, banners, and wall signs. Like the desert tortoise
that I named my business after, I like to think that my signs are unique
and enduring.
Here is a small sampling of the hundreds of signs I've done over the past
18 years.
