Mohler Family History

the Jarome Mohler ( b.1851) Branch


Tracing back into time, things get a bit murky right at 1728 or 1730, as well described at The Mohler Family Tree website


Tracing down to my (Jay Mohler b. 1944) four sons, (Abel, Daniel, Kevin, and Corey)

who are the ONLY gt-gt-grandchildren of Jarome Mohler to carry on the Mohler name

in spite of the fact that Jarome and his wife had TEN children.

Jarome and wife Arclina, in 1892 or 93, with the first 7 of their eventual 10 kids.


1: Lee, b. 1880, married, but died before having any children. 2: Bessie, b. 1878, married and became Bessie Jekel, had 2 sons, Alex and ?. 3: Jarome, b. 1851, father of 10, School Superintendent.

4: Paul, b. 1886, had one son, Clyde, and one daughter, by 1st wife, who died in childbirth. By his second wife he had two daughters, living today in Dayton Ohio. 5: Arclina, mother of 10 kids. 6: James Blaine Mohler, my paternal grandfather, b. 6/21/84. More about him below. 7: Margie: b. 1890, died as a teen of TB. 8. Max: b. 1892, stepped on a rusty nail and died of tetnus as a teen. 9: Mary: b. 1887, died of TB as a teen. Not yet born when this picture was taken: Caroline (Cary) b. abt 1889, died of TB as a teen: Maude: b. abt 1900, married Henry Kuekes in Berea OH, had 1 daughter, Carol, and 1 son Henry.

Last to be born to this large family was Luther Hill Mohler, b. 1902, married a widow who came supplied with 2 boys who where close to being teens when their mom married Luther, and they kept their Mother's name, Mathis. It was Luther who researched the family tree to be featured later.
