Surprise Surprise! My Second oldest son, Daniel, phoned me
up this last Saturday, and told me he'll pay for me to make a trip
to India, and that maybe he'll come along too. Now Daniel knows that
I've long wanted to visit the Indian Center
for Avatar
Meher Baba, but have never quite managed to make the trip.
This is all especially amazing, because Daniel has never
shown much interest in Meher Baba at all.
Anyway, right now,
I'm thinking going for....Daniel says *for anytime, for as long as I
want*... going for a couple of months toward the end of this year.
YES!
Meanwhile, I've taken up riding my bicycle back and
forth for the two miles to the taxi office....this since yesterday
when I put the key in my van, turned it and got just a few little
bursts of stuttering electrical moans....not nearly enough juice to
start up the 'ole V-8. Well, I've been thinking of riding the bike
anyway. I'll hopefully figure out what's going on with the
van/battery this weekend.

I
finally did an update
to my homepage, covering my move back to Myrtle Beach, and Anna
splitting to Chapel Hill NC.
Of more immediate concern in my
life just now, I've got a show of my mandalas coming up at the local
North Myrtle Beach library for the month of August. I've got a fair
number in stock now, but I plan to spin out one more three foot one,
and probably another two footer.
These will be my first two
using metallic yarn highlights, an idea inspired from mandala
tapestries by Charlene Marsh. I have hope of substantial
progress on the three foot ojo over my three days off from taxi
driving....starting today.
Its been fun having my oldest son
Abel visit. He was stationed with his firefighting crew in Asheville
NC for a couple months, and just may very well be moving back with a
couple of other guys from the crew to start their own tree clearing
service. They had one job already, clearing dead trees from a large
property.
Third son Kevin says he'll visit sometime this
coming winter. Really nice to have the kids grown to a stage where
they pay their own way to visit! Daniel too, has talked of possible
visiting, although that was quite a while ago. He did come here a
few years back though...back when Abel was here, and the boys mom,
Jan, came to visit.
