Here I am, in the Yucca Valley CA Library, typing on my nice new MacBook. Out in the parking lot is my 2000 Jeep Cherokee, which serves as my home for the present. It’s the Gypsy life, although I feel pretty at home in these parts, having lived here in the Morongo Basin from 1981 into 2001. I also spent some winters here way back in the 1960’s. Currently I’m spending most of my nights sleeping under the stars near a trailer of my very old friend Ted.

Since my last report here, its been a lot of North Myrtle Beach taxi driving, and a lot of time winding down from my three year marriage to my vastly younger wife, Anna. Its another case of, no matter how much fun, no matter how loving the marriage started out to be, with all the pain of breaking up, I’ve just got to try harder to avoid getting involved in any love affair that I can’t keep going more long-term.....

So, here I am, trying to get more serious about my Ojos de Dios, which you can visit anytime via my Ojos-de-Dios.com website.  My big plan over the next couple of year is to take the Ojos to a new level, using Persian tapestry yarns, and more needlework.

Meanwhile, I”m back into hiking in the Joshua Tree National Park, just as was my passion when I lived here before. I post my adventures on both my Yahoo blog, and the JTNP chatpage.  In fact, anytime you might be curious as to what I”m up to, check my BLOG!  I’m a bit sporadic at keeping it up, so if the latest news isn’t posted, well.....my email remains jayfroggy@yahoo.com.

I left firstborn Abel, now 29, in Asheville NC, after helping him buy a dumptruck for his Tree Seervice, Timber Tiger Tree Service. You can find the webpage I also helped him get started, HERE.

Daniel, aged 27, recently moved to Eugene OR, where he’s been enjoying lots of snowboarding with his girlfriend, Annie. Presumably he’ll be back working at Heating and Air-conditioning soon, and probably continuing on in college toward his long term goal of becoming a High School PE teacher and wrestling coach.

Kevin, 24, is about to be the first of the boys to graduate, after taking one course this summer at the University of Eastern Washington, with a major in history, something he would like to teach someday. Right now though, his plans after graduation remain vague.

Corey, 22, who is still living with his girlfriend in San Jose, CA, is working towards an AA degree, and perhaps will do well, being something of a math genius, in that bastion of computers, without further education. Right now he’s the most mysterious of the boys, at least to me, and I get news of him mainly through his older brother Kevin. I do, however, hope to actually visit him in person, as I travel north to leave the heat of desert summer behind....

Which brings me to my plans for this coming summer. Jan, the mother of these four amazing boys, having been a mother for almost 30 straight years, could use some help with her two girls, Anna and Alise, now aged 14 and 11 (or something close to that....I’ll get Kevin or Jan to give me the exact ages soon). Since Jan owns three house in Roslyn WA, a great place to retreat from desert heat, it looks like we can work out a mutually agreeable exchange......Also, Jan owns a house in Ellensburg, where Kevin is, and I’d very much enjoy being able to spend some time with Kevin, perhaps especially after he gets some free time after graduation.

Well, thats enough for now. I’m enjoying my current gypsy life, and hope all is well for friends old and new who read this report.

Peace and Love,

Jay
